Eight Cowboys Named Academic All-Big 12

IRVING, Texas - Oklahoma State had eight student-athletes named to the 2014 Academic All-Big 12 Conference Baseball Team, it was announced today by the league office.
This year marks the second straight that OSU baseball had eight student-athletes earn Academic All-Big 12 honors.
Four Cowboys earned Academic All-Big 12 First Team honors - senior Mark Robinette, juniors Gage Green and Jon Perrin and sophomore Conor Costello. Earning second-team accolades were seniors Aaron Cornell and Heath Holliday along with sophomores Alex Hackerott and Corey Hassel.
Green, Robinette and Perrin each earned Academic All-Big 12 First Team accolades for the second consecutive year, while Cornell is another repeat performer after being a first-team honoree in 2013.
A total of 65 Big 12 student-athletes were named to the 2014 Academic All-Big 12 Baseball Team. The first team is comprised of 43 honorees, while 22 student-athletes make up the second team. First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
