No. 2 Cowgirls Advance to NCEA Semifinal

WACO, Texas - The No. 2 Oklahoma State equestrian team defeated SMU, 11-5, Friday to advance to the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Championship semifinal at the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas.
The Cowgirls will face No. 3 Georgia on Saturday, with the winner advancing to the final round later in the day.
Two judges score the events during the NCEA Championships and the scores are combined for the rider's official score. Each competition features four riders from their respective universities, instead of five as is standard during the regular season.
The equitation on the flat squad kicked off the day for the Cowgirls by picking up three points. Freshman Jorden Davis tallied the highest score in the event with her 155-145 victory over Julianna Fischer. It was her ninth win of the season. Senior Andrea Robbins recorded a 142-109 score over Emma Roberts and senior Samantha Harrison also earned the win over Alex Butterworth, 128-122. OSU won the equitation on the flat event, 3-1.
In the reining event, the Cowgirls swept the Mustangs. Sophomore Justine Peters set the bar with a 144-139.5 victory over Jaclyn White for her 12th win of the season. Junior Katy Krshka posted her fifth-straight win in the event with a 143-139 victory over Courtney Line. Senior Jenna Blumer defeated Kristen Schramm, 142-135, for her 11th win of the season. Senior Mackenzie Fugitt also earned a 134-130.5 victory against Morgan Redwine. OSU won the reining event, 4-0.
Harrison tallied a 166-158 victory over Julianna Fischer in the equitation over fences discipline. It was her 11th win of the season in the event and third-straight. SMU won the equitation over fences event, 3-1.
After a re-ride, the Cowgirls scored points in the horsemanship event to ensure the win. Senior Lauren Halvorson earned a big 151-144.5 victory over Hannah McCain, her 10th win of the season and sixth in her last seven matches. Sophomore Ty Paris tallied a 148.5-134 victory against Redwine. Junior Lindsey McMullen defeated Jaclyn White, 138.5-110.5, her 11th win of the year and eighth straight. OSU won the horsemanship event, 3-1.
