Oklahoma State Wrestlers Set for National Tournaments

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State wrestling will be represented at two prominent national tournaments this weekend, with 11 total current or former Cowboys set to wrestle in the 2014 Las Vegas/ASICS U.S. Open and the 2014 ASICS Junior National Championships, both of which will be held in Las Vegas, Nev., from April 17-19.
All of Oklahoma State's athletes will wrestle in the freestyle portion of the event, which takes place Friday and Saturday.
Olympic medalist Coleman Scott headlines the list of Cowboys competing in the senior open championships. He is joined by former Cowboys Jordan Oliver, Tyler Caldwell, Clayton Foster, Chris Pendleton, Cayle Byers and Jack Jensen, as well as current Cowboy Austin Schafer.
Three more athletes on last year's roster will compete in the junior national championships for wrestlers ages 17-20, including Eli Hale, Chris Koo and Jordan Rogers.
Frank Perrelli, a former Cornell wrestler who has been in Stillwater training with the Cowboys, will also wrestle in the senior open championships.
