Cowboys Dip Into Fifth Place In Vegas

LAS VEGAS - Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a 308 on Saturday during its second round at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters to slip into fifth place at Southern Highlands Golf Club.
The Cowboys' 20-over score gave them a 36-hole total of 25-over 601 and three shots behind UCLA and Alabama. UNLV maintained the lead with a 303, giving them a 592 total and a two-shot lead over Stanford.
Stanford's Patrick Rodgers vaulted 13 spots into first place after firing a 69 to stand at 143 and two shots clear of the field.
Redshirt freshman Wyndham Clark and sophomore Jordan Niebrugge finished the day tied for 16th place at 149. Clark posted a 79, while Niebrugge carded a 77 to get to his total.
Senior Ian Davis had the squad's low round with a 74 to get in with a 152 total and tied for 27th place.
Senior Talor Gooch posted a 78 to finish at 154 and tied for 37th place, while freshman Zachary Olsen's 81 tied him for 45th place at 156.
Competing individually, senior Kevin Dougherty finished the day tied for 45th place after posting a 78 for a 156 total.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow at 8:45 a.m. (PST) and will be grouped with Alabama and Oklahoma.
