STILLWATER – “Five Questions” is a series that catches up with members of the Oklahoma State football team during the off-season. This installment features quarterback J.W. Walsh. His comments:
Quarterback J.W. Walsh
On his favorite memory at OSU
"My favorite memory is throwing that touchdown pass to Josh (Stewart) against Louisiana-Lafayette my freshman year. It's something that I will never forget. The relationship we have with each other together - it's not every day you get to play college football with someone you grew up with and throw him a touchdown pass on this big of a level."
On the person who has had the greatest impact on his football career
"That has to be my dad. Ever since I can remember, he has had a football in my hands. He's just been there every step of the way from pee-wee to now. He's making sure I can be the best football player and best leader I can be."
On spring ball
"Spring ball is going very well. A lot of young guys who aren't very experienced are getting quality reps, both offensively and defensively. We look like we're starting to come together pretty well, especially with some guys having to replace some of those seniors. We look pretty solid right now."
On what he enjoys outside of football
"Probably golf is about the only thing I do as far as a hobby. Right about now, from the end of spring ball to the end of summer we play quite a bit because we don't get to play any other time of the year. We'll get a golf membership at one of those courses and you can play as much as you can."
On his offseason goals
"For the team to make sure we're all on the same page and we all have the same goals and we're all working our butts off to accomplish those goals and making sure we're not leaving anybody behind and making sure everybody has one heartbeat and one team."
