Cowboys Finish Second In Florida

PALM CITY, Fla. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a 291 during its third round on Tuesday to finish in second place at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational at The Floridian Golf Club.
The Cowboys began the day tied atop the leaderboard with Georgia Tech before posting their 7-over closing round to finish at 7-under 845. The Yellow Jackets closed with a 1-under 283 score to claim the team title at 15-under 837.
Georgia Tech's Ollie Schniederjans fired his third consecutive 67 to claim medalist honors at 12-under 201.
A pair of Cowboys tied for 10th place with seniors Talor Gooch and Kevin Dougherty each posting 210 totals. Gooch closed with the squad's round of the day, a 69, while Dougherty finished with a 74.
Sophomore Jordan Niebrugge posted a 75 during his third round to finish at 213 and tied for 24th place.
Redshirt freshman Wyndham Clark carded his second 73 in a row to come in tied for 30th place at 215, while senior Ian Davis finished tied for 42nd place at 218 after posting a 77 during his third round.
OSU will be back in action on April 5 at the Aggie Invitational in Bryan, Texas.
