STILLWATER - Oklahoma State football coach Mike Gundy announced today that former walk-ons Teddy Johnson, Steven Sumpter and Cameron Gravelle were awarded scholarships.
"Teddy, Steve and Cameron have been in our program for several years. They're good students, they've contributed on the field, they're great team players, they're true Cowboys, they love Oklahoma State football and this gives us a chance to reward them for all their hard work," Gundy said.
Johnson is a fullback who has contributed greatly on OSU's special teams coverage units. He has 20 tackles and two forced fumbles as a Cowboy.
A graduate of Edmond Santa Fe HS who came to OSU last year after starting his career at Missouri Southern, Sumpter is a linebacker who was a regular contributor on special teams down the stretch in 2013. He saw action on defense against Lamar early in the season and broke up a pass.
Gravelle is a junior wide receiver from Austin, Texas, whose work on the scout team has been invaluable during his time in Stillwater.
