Cowboys Lead At Hayt Collegiate

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team opened up a three-shot lead through the first day of action at the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational after posting a 13-under total of 563 at Sawgrass Country Club.
The Cowboys opened with a 282 during their morning round at the par-72, 6,966-yard layout before following with a 281 during the afternoon. OSU finished the day three shots clear of UCF and seven ahead of Alabama-Birmingham.
UAB's Sam Love grabbed the individual lead with a 135 total that included rounds of 67 and 68.
Coming off his first career victory at the Amer Ari Invitational, sophomore Jordan Niebruggeled a trio of Cowboys in the top 10, finishing the day tied for fifth place. Niebrugge opened with a 72 before posting a 69 during round two to finish the day at 141.
Senior Talor Gooch posted a pair of 71s, while freshman Zachary Olsencarded rounds of 69 and 73 to come in tied for ninth place at 142.
Redshirt freshman Wyndham Clarkposted a 143 total to finish tied for 15th place, signing for rounds of 70 and 73.
Senior Ian Davisrallied after a 77 with a 68 to get to his 145 total and stand in a tie for 22nd place.
Competing individually, senior Kevin Doughertyposted consecutive 77s to get to 154 and stand alone in 67th place.
