TEMPE, Ariz. -
The Oklahoma State football team wrapped up its second day of practice for the TicketCity Cactus Bowl Sunday afternoon at Corona del Sol High School. Okstate.com talked with coach Mike Gundy following the practice. His comments:
Coach Mike GundyOn Sunday's practice:
“We had a good practice. We were able to get out here for two hours and put some quality work in. It was a beautiful day, and we were very productive.”
On the players enjoying their off time:
“We've always thought that they need a couple of days to enjoy themselves. They're still college students, but they still make good decisions. They were able to have a good time last night and still come out and have a good practice today. They're all excited, and they're glad to be out here. They enjoy Arizona."
On the team's focus after having multiple practices away from Stillwater:
“Last night was more of a light practice, but their focus has been good today. I think this team understands preparation, and that's all we can really ask for as a coaching staff, in addition to preparing well, understanding the game plan in all three phases and getting the chance to play hard on game day."
On how the team will continue its preparation throughout the week:
“Today's practice was heavy, and tomorrow's practice will be heavy. We put in a good workload back in Stillwater, and we still have work ahead of us, but for the most part, they understand the preparation.”
On the atmosphere off the field:
“The bowl volunteers have been tremendous, and the accommodations and weather have been good for the families. It's always nice to be in a location like this before we get to play our last game."
