No. 17 Maryland at Oklahoma State
Oklahoma State Post-Game Notes
Dec. 21, 2014 | Stillwater, Okla. | Gallagher-Iba Arena | 11,104 attendance
Final Score: No. 17 Maryland 73, Oklahoma State 64
Game Notes
► The Cowboys held a 20-19 lead with 5:30 remaining in the first half and trailed by a narrow 32-27 margin at the half before the defining stretch of the game occurred, with Maryland opening the second half on a 15-3 run to swell its lead to 47-30 and create the space it needed.
► Le'Bryan Nash led the Cowboys with 17 points and nine rebounds. It's the fourth straight game that Nash has led OSU in scoring. Anthony Hickey added 16 points and Phil Forte had 13 to mark the 10th time in 11 games this year that Oklahoma State has had at least three double-figure scorers.
► Michael Cobbins continued having the hot hand when it comes to blocking shots, as he swatted four Maryland attempts. He rejected four shots vs. Middle Tennessee last game.
► The signature trait of Oklahoma State's 9-1 start to the season was its defense, but Maryland was able to find success against the Cowboys, converting on 24 of its 53 field goal attempts (45.3 percent). To put that into perspective, OSU held five of its previous six opponents under 39 percent shooting from the field.
► Maryland's Jake Layman finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds to record the most points for an OSU opponent this season.
► Oklahoma State's nine-game home winning streak was snapped, as was its streak of 13 consecutive wins over non-conference opponents in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
► The loss dropped the Cowboys to 192-5 in non-conference home games, dating back to 1987.
► Sunday's matchup was just the second ever between Oklahoma State and Maryland on the hardwood. The first meeting came on Dec. 16, 1966, at the Memphis State Tournament in Memphis, Tenn., with the Terps picking up a 50-49 win.
► Both Maryland and Oklahoma State entered the game ranked in the top 25 nationally in field goal percentage defense. The Terrapins had been holding opposing teams to 37.0 percent shooting from the field (23rd nationally). OSU shot 42.6 percent. The Cowboys had been holding opposing teams to 35.2 percent shooting from the field (10th nationally). Maryland shot 45.3 percent.
Streaks Extended

► Phil Forte has made at least one three-pointer in 16 straight games and 23 of his last 24 contests.
► Le'Bryan Nash has scored in double figures in 10 straight games (all of his games this season).
