Thanksgiving With The Cowboys

STILLWATER, Okla. – The Cowboy football team has the day off to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. Okstate.com caught up with a few players to talk about their plans and what Thanksgiving means to them.
Fullback Jeremy Seaton
What are your plans for Thanksgiving?
“I'm going to go back home and hang out with my family and do a little bit of duck hunting and deer hunting.”
Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?
“We meet at my grandma's house and usually have lunch with her. Me and my mom and brothers usually have steak and shrimp that night.”
What is your favorite Thanksgiving food?
“That would have to be mashed potatoes and honey ham. My grandma makes an ice cream pie. I try to stay away from it, but I always end up getting some. It's phenomenal.”
Defensive End Sam Wren
What are your plans for Thanksgiving?
“I'm just going to stay in Oklahoma and take time off and just relax and the get ready for OU.”
Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?
“Not really, just being thankful for everything and thank God, most of all. I eat a lot of turkey and dressing.”
What is your favorite Thanksgiving food?
“Dressing is the all-time best thing ever. My grandmother makes the best dressing ever.”
Kicker Ben Grogan
What are your plans for Thanksgiving?
“All I'm doing is going home and then we usually go over to my aunt and uncle's house every year. My mom's side of the family all comes over and we just hang out and watch football.”
Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?
“We always watch the Cowboys play because everyone is a Cowboys fan. Other than that, not really.”
What is your favorite Thanksgiving food?
“It's stereotypical, but I love turkey. We always cook a turkey and that's my favorite part. My mom usually makes the desserts and they're pretty good, like pumpkin pie or something like that. It's different every year.”
Fullback Teddy Johnson
What are your plans for Thanksgiving?
“I'm going home to see my family. We're going to go to the Dallas Cowboys game, so that should be a pretty good time. I'm just looking forward to seeing family and going to the game.”
Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?
“Not really. My family is pretty small, so we keep it small. We always get a turkey from Popeyes. They have a Cajun fried turkey that we always get.”
What is your favorite Thanksgiving food?
“My mom makes really good macaroni and cheese. She puts a ton of cheese on it then bakes it. It's pretty good.”

Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions?
“We just have a lot of people come over and everyone brings food and we just sit down and eat together.”
What is your favorite Thanksgiving food?
“I just like turkey. I like the way mom spices it. It gets me every time.”
