Oklahoma State Announces 2015 Football Schedule
November 19, 2014 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER - Highlighted by home dates with Big 12 rivals Kansas State, Kansas, TCU, Baylor and Oklahoma, the 2015 Oklahoma State football schedule was announced today. The schedule is subject to change to accommodate television partners' requests.
The slate features seven home dates and is structured so the Pokes play in each of the season's first six weeks, then break for an open date before playing six straight weeks again to close out the season.
The Cowboys open 2015 against two teams they have never faced.
The Sept. 5 opener will be a road date at Central Michigan, marking the third straight season that OSU will open away from home. The Cowboys haven't played a true non-conference road game to start the season since 2007. The Pokes' home opener comes the following week against Central Arkansas on Sept. 12.
Former Cowboy assistant Larry Coker and UTSA cap their three-game series with the Cowboys in Boone Pickens Stadium on Sept. 19. The Pokes were 56-35 winners over the Roadrunners in San Antonio in 2013 and 43-13 winners over UTSA in Stillwater earlier this season.
OSU's Big 12 schedule starts with a road date, when the Cowboys are at Texas on Sept. 26. OSU has won three straight over the Longhorns in Austin. On Oct. 3, OSU hosts Kansas State in search of its fifth straight win over the Wildcats in Stillwater.
The Oct. 17 open date is sandwiched by an Oct. 10 trip to Morgantown to face West Virginia and an Oct. 24 home date with Kansas. OSU has lost only once to the Jayhawks in Boone Pickens Stadium since 1996.
The Cowboys are on the road to face Texas Tech in Lubbock on Oct. 31. The Pokes will be hunting their seventh straight win over the Red Raiders and their fourth straight victory over TTU in Jones AT&T Stadium.
A Nov. 7 home date with TCU will be followed by a Nov. 14 road battle with Iowa State in Ames. The Cowboys have won three straight over the Horned Frogs in Stillwater and five of their last six over the Cyclones.
The season wraps up with home dates against Baylor on Nov. 21 and Oklahoma on Nov. 28. The Cowboys haven't lost to the Bears at home since 1939 and will be looking to secure in-state bragging rights when they host the Sooners in the first Bedlam game played on Thanksgiving weekend since 2010.
