Former Oklahoma State Wrestler Passes Away

STILLWATER, Okla. – Former Cowboy wrestler and All-American Skyler Holman died Saturday, Oct. 4. He was 35 years old.
"Skyler was a great wrestler and a great man,” Smith said. “We are all deeply saddened by the news of his passing and we will continue to keep his family and friends in our thoughts and prayers."
Holman joined John Smith and his squad after the 2001 season, transferring from North Carolina, where he won an ACC Championship at 125 pounds. In 2002, he earned a Big 12 title and All-America honors as a Cowboy. He went on to compete in MMA after college.
He is survived by his wife, Angela, and two children.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the Reynolds Funeral Home in Tulsa. The funeral is scheduled for Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Cheiftain Center in Sapulpa, Okla.
