Kindig and Dieringer Prepped for All-Star Classic
October 31, 2014 | Cowboy Wrestling
STILLWATER – Cowboy wrestling's Josh Kindig and Alex Dieringer are set to wrestle at the All-Star Classic on Saturday in Philadelphia on the University of Pennsylvania campus.
The event kicks off the 2014-15 wrestling season with 20 of nation's best wrestlers set to go head-to-head in 10 matches.
Wrestling at 149 pounds, Kindig will return to his home state to open the season against defending national champion Jason Tsirtsis of Northwestern, whom he faced in the 149-pound NCAA finals in March.
“I am looking forward to getting a rematch of last year's national finals near my hometown in Philly with tons of fans coming to support me,” Kindig said. “It should be a fun, tough match, but I'm looking to get some redemption from my freshman year, when nationals were held in Philly and I went 2-2.”
NCAA 157-pound champion Dieringer, a junior for the Pokes, will make his debut at 165 pounds. He will take on All-American Nick Sulzer of Virginia.
“I am really excited,” Dieringer said. “It's going to be a great experience. I'm ready to show the nation what I can do at this weight. It should be a fun match against a tough opponent.”
Fans can watch the All-Star Classic live with a FloPro subscription on Flowrestling.org. The main event starts at 6:30 p.m. CT. Television coverage will be provided by FOX College Sports on a tape delay, starting two weeks after the event.
