Oklahoma State vs West Virginia
Saturday, January 25, 2014
• When Markel Brown blocked Eron Harris' shot at the 17:44 mark of the first half, he became the first Cowboy in school history to record 250 assists, 100 steals and 100 blocked shots in a career. Following today's game, he has 263 assists, 115 steals and 101 blocks in his four years in a Cowboy uniform.
• Brown became just the ninth player in school history to record 100 blocked shots in a career, and is the only guard to have achieved that feat.
• Brown finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds, marking his second double-double of the season and the fourth of his career. His 10 boards give him 503 for his career, becoming the 24th player in school history to record 500 or more rebounds. He's just the second player in OSU history under 6-4 to achieve that feat (Randy Rutherford, also at 6-3, had 503 from 1992-95).
• Le'Bryan Nash established a career high with 29 points vs West Virginia, his Big 12-leading 17th 20-point game of his career.
• Today's six-point victory is the closest game Oklahoma State has had at home this season. The previous closest game was a 13-point victory over Texas (87-74) on Jan. 8.
• Oklahoma State's 81 points are the most scored in five meetings with West Virginia.
• With an 8 of 8 performance from the free-throw line today, Phil Forte is now 29 of 29 from the line inside Gallagher-Iba Arena this season. He has a streak of 41 straight in GIA, dating back to last season.
• Forte recorded a career-best five steals today vs the Mountaineers. His previous high was four against Iowa State on Jan. 30, 2013.
