Team Notes
• Oklahoma State's uniform combination for today's game vs UTSA was orange helmet, white jersey and orange pants.
• Team captains for today's game vs UTSA were: cornerback Justin Gilbert, running back Jeremy Smith, linebacker Caleb Lavey and offensive lineman Parker Graham. Linebacker Shaun Lewis carried “The Big Stick” onto the field.
• Today marked the 24th-straight game that OSU has had a scoring drive of two minutes or less.
• OSU threw for 518 yards, just the third time in school history that the Cowboys have thrown for 500 yards and the second most ever (574 vs Tulsa on Sept. 18, 2010).
• Oklahoma State had just 87 yards rushing, the fewest since also recording 87 at Kansas State last season.
• OSU amassed 400 or more yards for the 10th-consecutive game and the 27th time in the last 28 contests.
• At the 11:22 mark of the second quarter, the Cowboys had more passing yards than during the entire Mississippi State game.
• OSU had just one third-down attempt in the first half.
• The Cowboys have won the turnover battle in six of the last seven games. It may be temporary, but OSU has surpassed Oregon for most turnovers forced since 2009 with 134. The Ducks enter their game at Virginia with 133.
• The Cowboys are now 14-1 in their last 15 non-conference games, dating back to the start of the 2010 season.
• The Cowboys are 26-3 in their last 29 games against unranked opponents.
• OSU has won nine of its last 10 games played inside the state borders of Texas.
Opponent Notes
• With 4:22 remaining in the first quarter, the Cowboy defense gave up its first touchdown of the season, a six-yard run by Kenny Bias. It also ended an 11-possession streak of OSU's defense allowing a score.
• OSU's 56 points are the most given up by the fledgling UTSA program. The previous high was 52 by San Jose State on Oct. 20, 2012.
Individual Notes
• Junior Chris Grisbhy made his first-career start today at right tackle.
• Cowboys making their first-career appearances in an OSU uniform today were: freshmen Jordan Sterns, Seth Jacobs, Rennie Childs, Victor Irokansi, Paul Lewis, Dominic Ramacher and Eric Davis.
• RS Freshman Jhajuan Seales scored his first-career touchdown at the 9:59 mark of the first quarter, a 10-yard reception from J.W. Walsh.
• Sophomore Brandon Sheperd scored his first-career TD at the 2:14 mark of the first quarter, a 19-yard reception from Walsh.
• With a 22-yard reception in the first quarter, senior Tracy Moore moved past Alonzo Mayes and into 15th place on the OSU career receiving yards list. He now has 1,392 yards, 22 shy of Rafael Denson's 1,414 yards.
• Senior Shaun Lewis recorded his sixth-career interception, and the first since his sophomore season, at the two-minute mark in the first quarter.
• Walsh completed his first 10 passing attempts of the game before a pass to David Glidden near the end of the first quarter fell incomplete. After back-to-back incompletions, he completed 10 more to end the half at 20-of-22.
• Walsh finished the game 24-of-27 (88.9%), the highest single-game percentage in school history with at least 13 attempts. Brandon Weeden held the previous record at 24-of-28 (85.7%) vs Kansas on Oct. 8, 2011.
• Walsh also had a 239.2 passing efficiency rating today vs UTSA, the fourth-highest in school history with at least 20 attempts.
• With four touchdown passes against UTSA, Walsh matched his career high and recorded his fifth-career multiple TD passing game.
• Today marks the 14th-consecutive game that Josh Stewart has made four or more receptions.
• Walsh's 56-yard completion to Stewart midway through the second quarter is OSU's longest play of the season and the longest non-scoring passing play since Walsh threw a 58-yard pass to Blake Jackson in the Louisiana game last season.
• Today marked the seventh-straight game that OSU has had a rushing TD. The Cowboys have scored by rush in 16 of the last 17 contests.
• Ryan Simmons recorded his first-career interception at the 2:33 mark of the second quarter, returning the pick 27 yards to set up OSU's fifth score of the game.
• David Glidden recorded the longest reception of his career with a 29-yarder in the second quarter.
• Shaun Lewis started his 34th-consecutive game, the longest current streak of any Cowboy.
• Thirteen different Cowboys made a reception in today's game.
