STILLWATER -
Oklahoma State women's cross country, coming off its fourth-straight Cowboy Jamboree title, has claimed the No. 1 ranking in the Midwest Region, according to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll, which was released today.
The Cowgirls jumped Minnesota, who had been No. 1 in the region all season. This is the first time in history that the Cowgirls have been the top-ranked team in the Midwest.
On the men's side, the Cowboys were ranked No. 1 in the Midwest Region yet again, extending their streak to 38 consecutive weeks at the top. The Cowboys strengthened their position at the top by defeating the nation's No. 2 team, Northern Arizona, at this weekend's Cowboy Jamboree.
OSU Cross Country will be back in action on Oct. 19, when the teams travel to Terre Haute, Ind., for the Pre-National Invitational.
