Cowboys In Second At Olympia Fields

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team opened play at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational on Friday with an 11-over 291 to stand alone in second place at Olympia Fields Country Club.
The Cowboys wrapped up their first round 10 shots behind Alabama at the par-70, 7,205-yard layout. Texas Tech and Texas shared third place at 292.
Alabama's Trey Mullinax grabbed the individual lead after posting a 67.
OSU senior Ian Davis opened with a 71 to stand in a tie for fifth, while classmate Kevin Dougherty came in a stroke back with a 72 to finish tied for 10th place.
Senior Talor Gooch posted a 73, tying him for 15th place.
Sophomore Wyndham Clark's 75 knotted him for 35th place.
Junior Tanner Kesterson rounded out the starting five with a 78 to stand in a tie for 60th place.
The Cowboys will begin their second round tomorrow at 10:20 a.m. and will be grouped with Alabama and Texas Tech.
