Ealey Takes Bronze At Junior Pan-Am

MEDELLIN, Colombia -

Chase Ealey earned third place in the women's shot put for Team USA at the 17th Pan American Junior Championships, in Medellin, Colombia, on Friday.

Ealey's throw of 14.88m/48-9.75 was just over .5 meters short of the gold medal, won by fellow American Stamatia Scarvellis.

Ealey`s bronze medal was one of 11 medals earned for Team USA on Friday.

"This was a great finish to a long year of competition for Chase," OSU throws coach John Baumann said. "She accomplished a lot this year, and this finish makes for great momentum going forward."
