Smith to Participate in USA Wrestling Google+ Hangout

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State wrestling coach and six-time world champion John Smith with participate in a Google+ Hangout alongside fellow Division I coaches and wrestling legends Tom Brands and Cael Sanderson. The hangout will be hosted by USA Wrestling, FILA and CPOW tomorrow at 4 p.m. CT.
The trio will discuss their efforts in the fight to save Olympic wrestling as well as their Olympic careers. Fans can tweet questions using the #LegendsHangout hashtag.
Smith is a two-time Olympic champion from the 1988 Seoul and 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympic Games and a four-time world champion in the 62kg weight class. He went 154-7-2 during his collegiate career at Oklahoma State, winning two NCAA individual titles in 1987 and 1988.
Brands, the head coach for the Iowa Hawkeyes, was a gold medalist in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, while Penn State's head coach, Sanderson, earned his gold at the 2004 Athens Summer Games.
Also joining the session will be current Cowboy wrestler and Junior World Championships silver medalist Alex Dieringer and Team USA member and junior gold medalist Kyle Snyder.

Sanderson, Smith and Brands are the latest of several Olympic wrestlers and leaders who will participate in weekly Google+ Hangouts On Air leading up to the International Olympic Committee's final vote in September. The final hangout scheduled for next Thursday, August 29 will feature FILA president Nenad Lalovic.
