STILLWATER -
The 2013 Oklahoma State men's and women's cross country schedule has been released today.
The defending national champion Cowboys will begin the chase for their fourth NCAA title in five years on Aug. 31, at the Tulsa Duels.
Both the men's and women's teams will look to win their fourth-straight Cowboy Jamboree titles, when the event descends on Stillwater, on Sept. 28, at 9 a.m.
The season heats up in November with the Big 12 Championships in Waco, Texas, on Nov. 2, and the NCAA Midwest Regional, which will be held in Ames, Iowa, this year, on Nov. 15.
On Nov. 23, the NCAA Cross Country Championships return to Terre Haute, Ind.
Last season, the Cowboys had four All-Americans en route to taking home the NCAA team championship by 63 points, and the Cowgirls finished in 26th.
"The way we set up our schedule is a big part of what we do," OSU Coach Dave Smith said. "We try to schedule more locally to give our younger athletes a chance to run and compete for spots later in the year. We don't go to a lot of the early big invitationals where all the top teams come and duke it out. I don't want to have to run at peak performance that early. We want to build toward running our best at the NCAA Championships."
