SAUKVILLE, Wis. - Oklahoma State's Jordan Niebrugge won his second consecutive event on Thursday, holding on for a one-shot victory at the 112th Wisconsin State Amateur Championship at The Bog.
Fresh off his victory last week at the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship, Niebrugge built an eight-stroke cushion through 54 holes after carding rounds of 69, 66 and 71. The rising sophomore closed with a 76 to finish at 6-under 282 and a shot clear of Charlie Danielson.
For Niebrugge, the win was his second WSGA title of the year. He won the WSGA Match Play Championship earlier this year.
Additionally, the win completed the "Wisconsin Slam" for Niebrugge. He now has won the Wisconsin State Amateur Championship, the WSGA Match Play Championship, the WIAA High School Championship and the Wisconsin State Open. Niebrugge's win at the State Open in 2011 made him the youngest champion in the history of the event.
