STILLWATER -
Oklahoma State's Caitlin Way has been named a District 7 Capital One Men's and Women's Track and Field/Cross Country First-Team Academic All-American.
Way, a junior thrower from Mitchell, S.D., has not only had a great year in the weight and hammer throws, she's been excellent in the classroom as well.
Way carries a cumulative 4.0 GPA, majoring in physiology-premedicine/preprofessional.
To qualify, an athlete had to have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3, and be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic credentials.
Way was a first-team All-Big 12 performer in both indoor and outdoor track and field. In the indoor weight throw, Way took seventh place at the Big 12 meet, and she took fourth in the hammer at the outdoor Big 12 meet. She also qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary Round in the hammer.
