OSU Golfers Earn Academic Honors

IRVING, Texas - Five members of the Oklahoma State golf programs earned Academic All-Big 12 honors it was announced today by the league office.
On the men's side, two players were honored with juniors Ian Davis and Talor Gooch being named first-team selections. Three Cowgirls appeared on the women's squad, with senior Hillary Wood and junior Jayde Panos appearing on the first team, while junior Josephine Janson earned second-team recognition.
A native of Edmond, Okla., Davis is pursuing a degree in sports management, while Gooch, a Midwest City, Okla., native, is an education major.
Panos, a Perth, Australia native, and Wood, a Sugar Land, Texas product, are both pursuing degrees in marketing. Janson, who hails from Halmstad, Sweden, is a leisure studies major.
First-team honorees must maintain a 3.20 GPA and those on the second team must hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher (either cumulative or the two previous semesters) and must have participated in 60 percent of their team's scheduled contests.
Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
