Oklahoma State vs Kansas State
Saturday, March 9, 2013
• Tonight's win over the No. 9 Wildcats marks the third victory over a top-10 team this season for Oklahoma State. It's the first time since 2003-04 that OSU has achieved that feat.
• OSU finished conference play with a 13-5 mark, just the third time in school history that the Cowboys have won 13 conference games (1937-38 — 13-1 • 2003-04 — 14-2).
• Oklahoma State has now defeated at least one ranked opponent at home in each of the past 15 seasons. Since 1989, the Cowboys have defeated at least one ranked foe in 23 of the last 24 home slates. OSU is 41-23 (.641) during that span.
• With the win over Kansas State, the Cowboys ended a three-game losing skid against the Wildcats.
• Oklahoma State has now shot 50 percent or better from the floor in three of the last four games; today's 56.8 percent shooting from the field was the second-highest this season (57.1 percent vs Portland State).
• With five blocked shots, the Cowboys moved past last season's total of 141 and now has 142 this year. That's the most blocks by an OSU squad since 2002-03, when the Pokes had 171.
• With two steals against KSU, Marcus Smart tied Mario Chalmers for the most steals by a freshman in Big 12 history. He now has 89 thefts in his rookie season, matching Chalmers' total in 2005-06.
• Markel Brown became the sixth player in school history to record 100 steals and 75 blocked shots in a career. He also became just the second player in the OSU record book to record 200 assists, 100 steals and 75 blocked shots, joining Byron Houston.
• LeBryan Nash now now scored 20 or more points for the seventh time this season and the 13th time of his career.
• Michael Cobbins has recorded multiple blocks in 11 games this season, and has at least three blocked shots in four of the last seven contests.
• Marcus Smart recorded his 13th game of five or more assists this season.
• KSU outrebounded Oklahoma State 13-5 on the offensive glass, but the teams tied in second-chance points, 8-8.
