STILLWATER, Okla. – The Oklahoma State football team is ranked in the top 15 in both the USA Today Coaches Poll and Associated Press Poll released today, ranking 11th and 15th, respectively, after a statement-making 52-34 win at Texas Tech Saturday night.
The Cowboys (7-1, 4-1 Big 12) rose one spot in the USA Today Poll and three places in the AP Poll, with this week marking the fourth consecutive week OSU has improved in both polls. OSU has also been ranked in both polls every week of the season and reached as high as No. 11 in each of them
Oklahoma State made its case for its rise in the rankings by recording back-to-back 50-point scoring outings on the road for the first time in school history. The Cowboys have shown a powerful rushing attack in each of those contests, and are the only team in the country this year to have recorded a 500-yard passing game and a 300-yard rushing game.
Four Big 12 Conference teams are ranked in both polls this week, with Baylor, Texas Tech and Oklahoma joining Oklahoma State.
The Cowboys resume play Nov. 9 when they take on Kansas at 3 p.m. It marks the first home game for the Cowboys since their win over TCU on Oct. 19.
