• Marcus Smart established a school record with nine steals, one shy of the Big 12 record. Brooks Thompson had the original record of eight vs Colorado on Feb. 13, 1993, which was matched by Desmond Mason vs Houston Baptist on Dec. 15, 1998. Smart's total fell one shy of the Big 12 record of 10 by Texas' Ivan Wagner vs Texas A&M on Feb. 3, 1999.
• Smart also recorded five steals during the first half, tying for the second-most in a half in OSU history. The school record is six, set by Brooks Thompson at SMU on Nov. 28, 1993, and matched by Brian Montonati vs Alcorn State on Dec. 15, 1999.
• The Cowboys had 18 steals vs Utah Valley, tied for the third-most in a single game in school history and one shy of the school record set vs UMKC on Dec. 19, 1988, and matched against Mercer on Dec. 17, 2008.
• OSU's 14 three-pointers are tied for the fourth-most in a single game in school history, falling one shy of the school record. The Cowboys' 10 three pointers in the first half were two shy of the most by a Cowboy squad in a half under Coach Ford. The Pokes connected on 12 treys in the second half against Oklahoma on Feb. 22, 2012.
• Phil Forte made his only free-throw attempt, extending his streak of consecutive free-throws made to 34, tying Keiton Page for the fifth-longest streak in school history.
• Oklahoma State had six different players score in double figures, the first time OSU has done that since Jan. 3, 2011, vs UTSA.
• Utah Valley scored just 15 points in the second half, the first time OSU has held an opponent to fewer than 20 points since Feb. 25, 2012, when Texas A&M scored 16.
