STILLWATER - With the 2012 cross country season underway, we sat down with some of the newcomers to the team to get an idea of who they are and how they chose Oklahoma State. Today's Q&A is with two-time Missouri state cross country champion, Samantha Nightingale.
What brought you to Oklahoma State?
"Obviously the track and cross country team, but the coaches and the team itself are a really close-knit group and I really like them."
What is your favorite thing about OSU? Why?
"I'd have to say the campus. The campus is gorgeous. I love the old buildings and the old-school look they have."
What do you miss most about home?
"Kansas City is kind of the same as Stillwater, but maybe all of the shopping centers."
What sports do you like to watch in your spare time?
"I'm not big on watching other sports, but probably college football."
Who are your favorite team(s)?
"Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals, obviously."
Who is your favorite Olympian? Why?
"Matt Tegenkamp. He's from Lee's Summit, Mo, which is right around the corner, and I met him and he's a pretty cool guy."
What is your biggest pet peeve?
"When people don't use their blinker when driving."
What is your guilty pleasure?
"Before every race, I have a chocolate-covered donut and a pickle."
Who is the most played artist on your iPod?
"I'd have to say Tim McGraw."
What is your favorite TV show?
"Big Bang Theory."
What is one word to describe yourself?
"Enthusiastic."
