STILLWATER, Okla. - Running backs Joseph Randle and Jeremy Smith, cornerbacks Brodrick Brown and Justin Gilbert, safety Daytawion Lowe and receiver Tracy Moore were among a group of about 20 Oklahoma State players who visited St. Francis Children's Hospital in Tulsa on Wednesday. The Cowboy players spent most of their time with patients in the oncology area and in the intensive care unit.
"It really helps to put things into perspective for you to see the people here," Randle said. "Sometimes as players, we complain about some of the nicks and bruises that we get during camp or we think that we're some kind of great fighters. These kids show real fight every single day in overcoming the adversity that they do. It's a pleasure to come here and spend time with them."
"I know I speak for everyone involved in the treatment of our pediatric patients when I say we are appreciative that the Cowboy football team and Pistol Pete take time out of their schedules to visit children in the hospital," Carrie Modrak, director, The Children's Hospital Foundation at Saint Francis said. "It is gestures like theirs which can give the patients strength to recover, and the parents and children really enjoy seeing their friendly faces. The Children's Hospital at Saint Francis is grateful to Cowboy athletics for thinking of our families at a challenging time in their lives."
