Cowgirls Wrap up Regular Season at Missouri

Stillwater, Okla. — Oklahoma State's Cowgirl softball team travels to Columbia, Mo., this weekend to wrap up the regular season as OSU takes on the 10th-ranked Missouri Tigers in a three-game series starting Friday evening at 6 pm on University Field.
Oklahoma State is 25-23 overall this season and 8-13 in Big 12 Conference action entering the three-game series with Mizzou. OSU is 57-38 all-time against the Tigers, who are leaving the league for the Southeastern Conference next season. This will be the final conference series played between these two teams.
Also announced on Thursday, five Cowgirls received mention on the Academic All-Big 12 teams. Three student-athletes were named to the first team, while two others were named to the second team.
Senior Chelsea Garcia is a three-time first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection, just the eighth three-time Cowgirl nominee since the Big 12 formed in 1996. She is one of nine three-time first-team honorees on the team this season. Chelsea is majoring in secondary education/mathematics and will graduate in May of 2013.
Senior Sammy Jo Diffendaffer is a two-time first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection, and is one of six nominated this year with a 4.00 grade point average. She is majoring in human development and family science. Senior Kelsea Schultz was also named a first-team honoree, majoring in athletic training.
A pair of Cowgirl sophomores were named second-team Academic All-Big 12. Tarah Ettinger (physical education/teacher education) and Simone Freeman (health education and promotion) were eligible for the first time this year as freshman are not eligible.
