Cowboys Move Into Sixth At Big 12 Championship

TRINITY, Texas - Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a 287 during its third round at the Big 12 Championship on Saturday to move into sixth place at Whispering Pines Golf Club.
With their 1-under score, the Cowboys were one of three teams to break par on the day at the par-72, 7,298-yard layout. OSU will begin tomorrow's final round at 35-over 899 and eight shots behind Baylor for fifth place. Texas A&M leads the event with a 4-over total of 868.
Oklahoma's Abraham Ancer posted his second consecutive 69 for a 210 total and a two-shot lead in the individual race.
For the Cowboys, Tanner Kesterson jumped from 31st into a tie for 14th place at 224 after firing a 3-under 69. Starting on the 10th tee, the freshman posted a 1-under 35 on his outward nine that included three birdies. Kesterson then posted birdies at Nos. 1 and 2 before carding his sixth birdie of the day at the sixth hole.
Sophomore Ian Davis used a 2-under 70 that featured five birdies to move into a tie for 19th place at 225.
Sophomore Talor Gooch finished the day tied for 21st place after posting a 75 for a 226 total, while junior Sean Einhaus' 80 gave him sole possession of 35th place at 231. Redshirt freshman Patrick Winther carded his low round of the event with a 73 to stand at 234 and tied for 40th place.
The Cowboys will begin their fourth round tomorrow at 9:12 a.m. and will be paired with Baylor.
