LAS VEGAS - Oklahoma State's men's golf team opened play at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters on Friday with a 298 total to stand in a tie for 12th place at Southern Highlands Golf Club.
The Cowboys finished the day tied with Southern California at 10-over par at the par-72, 7,510-yard layout. The duo will begin play tomorrow just seven shots out of fourth place and 12 shots off the pace of first-round leader California. The Bears posted a 2-under 286 on the day.
Texas Tech's Logan McCracken fired a 6-under 66 to lead the individual race by two shots.
Sophomore Brad Gehl led OSU's starting five with a 1-over 73 to stand in a tie for 23rd place.
Sophomore Talor Gooch came in a stroke back with a 74 to finish tied for 29th place. Also among the group tied for 29th was redshirt freshman Patrick Winther.
Junior Sean Einhaus posted a 77 to come in tied for 56th place, while sophomore Ian Davis signed for an 80 to finish tied for 65th place.
The Cowboys will begin their second round tomorrow at 9:03 a.m. (PST) and will be grouped with New Mexico State and Arizona State.
