Cowboys Finish Seventh At Match Play

BRADENTON, Fla. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team closed out play at the Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championship on Tuesday with a 4-1 victory over Tennessee to finish seventh at The Concession Golf Club.
With the victory over the 10th-seeded Volunteers, the No. 4 seed Cowboys wrapped up play with a 2-2 record.
OSU picked up victories at the top three spots in the lineup. Sophomore Talor Gooch led the way at the No. 1 spot with a 2-and-1 victory over Garrick Porteous.
Junior Sean Einhaus earned a 1-up win over Jay Vandeventer, while sophomore Brad Gehl knocked off Brandon Rodgers, 3 and 2.
Tennessee earned its lone point of the day at the No. 4 spot with Rick Lamb defeating Cowboy redshirt freshman Patrick Winther, 4 and 2.
Cowboy freshman Tanner Kesterson rolled to a 5-and-4 triumph in his match against Marshall Talkington in the fifth spot.
The Cowboys will return to action on March 31 when they take part in the Augusta State Invitational.
