OSU Looks to Continue National Duals Domination

STILLWATER, Okla. – On the eve of the first round of the 2012 NWCA National Duals, with the top-ranked Oklahoma State wrestling team poised to make a run at the title, okstate.com looks at the Cowboys' history at the event.
Oklahoma State has won an impressive eight National Duals titles since the event's inception in 1989, claiming the crown in 1989, 1990, 1994, 1997, 1999, 2003, 2004 and 2005.
The Pokes have tallied a dominating 57-11 all-time record in their 17 trips to National Duals, with their last appearance coming in 2011.
OSU's eleven championship appearances are the most ever, with Iowa's eight appearances ranking a distant second. Nebraska is the only other team with three finals appearances.
Only thirteen teams who have made it to the finals, with eleven of those teams competing this year: Cornell, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Virginia Tech.
The Cowboys kick off their run at the 2012 title Sunday at 3 p.m., facing the winner of the 1 p.m. match between Wyoming and Tennessee-Chattanooga.
