Cowgirls Win Home Opener Against Bears, 17-7

STILLWATER – The No. 6 Oklahoma State equestrian team defeated the fifth-ranked Baylor Bears, 17-7, on Saturday at the Animal Science Arena.
The OSU hunter seat squad defeated the defending hunter seat national champions 8-4, winning equitation on the flat 5-1 and winning equitation over the fences 489-474.
After the win today, the OSU western team improved to 3-0 on the season. Defeating the Bears 5-1 in horsemanship and 4-2 in reining.
OSU sophomore Lindsey McMullen received Most Outstanding Player in the horsemanship category with a score of 76.5.
OSU sophomore Katy Krshka received Most Outstanding Player in the reining category with a score of 68.
The Cowgirls improve to 1-2 on the season and 1-0 in Big 12 play. They will be back in action when they travel to South Dakota State October 13.
