Cowboys Finish Third In Iowa

BURLINGTON, Iowa - Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a 295 during its third round at the Golfweek Conference Challenge on Tuesday to finish in third place at Spirit Hollow Golf Course.
The Cowboys finished the event with a 3-over total of 867 at the par-72, 7,010-yard layout to come in a stroke behind Chattanooga for second place. Arkansas carded a 285 during its final round to finish seven shots clear of the field at 859.
Chattanooga's Stephan Jaeger signed for a 73 during his final round to finish at 209 and hang on for a one-shot victory.
Leading the way for the Cowboys was junior Sean Einhaus, who closed with a 78 to tie for sixth place at 1-under 215.
Talor Gooch jumped 10 spots on the leaderboard with a 2-under 70 to tie for 13th place at 218. The sophomore bogeyed two of his first three holes on the day, but settled in to play 4-under par the rest of the way.
Sophomore Ian Davis' 72 moved him into a tie for 22nd place at 221, while junior Drew Page tied for 28th place at 222 after signing for a closing 77.
Sophomore Kevin Dougherty rounded out the lineup, tying for 37th place after carding a 76 for a 224 total.
The Cowboys will be back in action on Oct. 10 when they compete at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational in Dublin, Ohio.
