STILLWATER - Oklahoma State senior quarterback Brandon Weeden continues to rake in awards in the wake of Oklahoma State's 30-29 come-from-behind win at eighth-ranked Texas A&M.
Weeden has been named the Walter Camp national player of the week, the Rivals.com national player of the week and the Big 12 offensive player of the week. He has also been nominated for the Capital One Cup Impact Performance of the Week and for the second time this season he has been designated as a Manning Award star of the week.
Weeden's Big 12 award is the third of his career and the first this season.
Weeden, the 2010 All-Big 12 first-team quarterback, turned in one of the signature games of his Cowboy career in College Station. He set school records for completions (47), attempts (60) and passing yards (438) to go along with a pair of touchdown passes as OSU rallied from a 20-3 halftime deficit to earn their first road win over a top-10 opponent since 2008.
In the second half against the Aggies, Weeden went 30-of-43 for 285 yards and with two touchdowns. The Cowboys scored on five of their first six possessions in the second half with three touchdowns and two field goals. Another apparent touchdown pass was fumbled out of the end zone.
Weeden enters OSU's first open week of the season leading the nation in passing yards per game (398.0) and total passing yards (1,592). He is second nationally in total offense (380.75 per game).
The fifth-ranked Cowboys will take the week off before returning to action Oct. 8 when they host Kansas at Boone Pickens Stadium.
