Cowboys In Second Through 36 Holes

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted an 8-over 288 during its second round on Saturday at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational to remain in second place at Olympia Fields Country Club.
The Cowboys stand at 10-over 570 through 36 holes and will enter tomorrow's final round 11 shots behind Stanford at the par-70, 7,142-yard layout. The Cardinal entered the day with a five-shot advantage and stretched that margin with a 282 for a 559 tally. Auburn finished the day in third place with a 293 and a 578 total.
Individually, Stanford holds the top three spots on the leaderboard with Cameron Wilson pacing the trio. With a 67 during his second round he overtook the lead by a stroke with a 4-under 136 total.
For OSU, Sean Einhaus used an even-par 70 to move from a tie for 15th place into sixth at 1-over 141. The junior posted three birdies on his front nine to turn at even-par 35. After a bogey at the 10th, Einhaus tacked on two more birdies on his closing nine at the 14th and 17th before closing with a bogey to finish at level par.
After opening with a 69 on Friday, junior Drew Page posted a 73 during his second round to stand at 2-over 142 and tied for seventh place.
Senior Peter Uihlein made the squad's biggest move after a 71 during his second round moved him from a tie for 43rd into a tie for 17th at 145.
Sophomore Talor Gooch's 74 put him in a tie for 19th place at 146, while sophomore Kevin Dougherty's 79 gave him a 149 total and tied him for 45th place.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow morning at 9:20 and will be grouped with Stanford and Auburn.
