Cowboys Open Season At Olympia Fields

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team will get its fall slate underway on Friday when it begins play at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational at Olympia Fields Country Club.

The second-ranked Cowboys will be one of 15 teams competing at the par-70, 7,205-yard layout this weekend. The 54-hole event will run from Friday through Sunday with 18 holes being played each day.

OSU won the event in 2007 and has produced three individual champions with Rickie Fowler winning that same year and Trent Whitekiller claiming medalist honors in 2009. Last year, then-junior Peter Uihlein finished atop the individual leaderboard.

For this year's event, the Cowboy lineup will be comprised of Uihlein, juniors Sean Einhaus and Drew Page as well as sophomores Kevin Dougherty and Talor Gooch.
