STILLWATER, Okla. – After receiving more than 650 entries, the fan contest to name the new OSU tailgate area has been decided.
The area, located just north of the Cowgirl Softball Stadium off McElroy Road between Bellis and West Street, will be known as “The Corral.”
The eventual winning name was submitted by several entrants, but Tim Fiegel was chosen as the winner through a random drawing of that group. He will be awarded with four club tickets to the season opener against Louisiana, while the other entrants who submitted “The Corral” will receive a consolation prize of two tickets in the lower bowl.
“The Corral” becomes the official name of the area and it will be placed on game day parking maps, online maps, signage and other promotional materials.
While the tailgate space will be available to all fans, limited parking is available in the area for qualifying POSSE members ($1000+ donors to OSU Athletics) with an applicable game day parking permit.
The area will be available beginning with the 2011 Cowboy football season until further construction projects take effect. Fans must follow all tailgating guidelines outlined specifically for this area on www.okstate.com.
