STILLWATER, Okla. – Demand for Oklahoma State season football tickets has reached an all-time high.
On Friday, OSU surpassed its 2009 record for public season ticket sales by reaching 34,354 by midday. The old mark, set in the first year of the expanded Boone Pickens Stadium and with No. 13 Georgia visiting for the re-dedication of the facility, was 34,312.
The current public sales pace is more than 2,500 tickets ahead of the record pace in 2009 on the same date. When including student sales, the 2009 season ended with an all-time high of 45,694 season ticket holders. The bulk of OSU's students will begin purchasing their 2011 season tickets next week.
The historic ticket sales come on the heels of historic play as the Cowboys are coming off an 11-2 season in 2010. OSU earned a share of the Big 12 South title last season with three first-team All-Americans and two national award winners and finished in the top 10 for the first time since 1984.
Over the last three seasons, Oklahoma State's 29 wins rank 10th nationally.
