Football Graduates 13 In Spring/Summer

STILLWATER, Okla.- The Oklahoma State football program graduated 13 student-athletes in the spring and summer of 2011. The Cowboys recently completed the summer academic session with a grade point average of 2.88.
"This is the latest sign of success and it comes more importantly off the field in the classroom," said coach Mike Gundy. "The dedication shown by our student-athletes has been exceptional and the academic staff continues to put guys in situations to be successful. We are very excited for these young men to enter the professional world and return to the OSU family on game days."
The Cowboys who recently received their degrees are Maurice Gray, Lucien Antoine, Beau Johnson, DeMarcus Conner, Terrance Anderson, Quencey Patrick, Jared Glover, Deron Fontenot, Anthony Morgan, Chris Donaldson, Brandon Weeden, Grant Garner and Jamie Blatnick.
"We had an excellent summer overall as a group," said Senior Academic Counselor for OSU Football Terry Henley. "This has been one of the best summers in my 11 years at Oklahoma State. The guys stayed focused and approached their academics with a professional mindset. Three starters in Hubert Anyiam, Markelle Martin and Richetti Jones completed 11 credit hours this summer to put themselves in a position to graduate this fall."
Of the 13 who graduated, eight had exhausted eligibility and five played in the fall. Weeden, Garner and Blatnick will return this fall for the Cowboys.
OSU had nine student-athletes named to the 2010 Academic All-Big 12 team.
