Brian Guetz Named OSU Golf Assistant

STILLWATER, Okla. - Former Oklahoma State standout Brian Guetz has been named as the assistant men's golf coach at his alma mater it was announced today by Cowboy head coach Mike McGraw.
"We are excited to have Brian coming back to Stillwater and I am personally looking forward to working with him," McGraw said. "He is a very good player and an even better person."
Guetz returns to Stillwater after spending last spring as an assistant coach at Colorado State.
"I am extremely excited about being a part of the Oklahoma State golf program again," Guetz said. "My family and I are looking forward to being involved with the university and the community. I have to thank both Coach McGraw and Coach (Alan) Bratton for this great opportunity and look forward to helping continue the strong OSU golf tradition."
"This past spring, I was offered a coaching position at Colorado State. The team had a great spring and qualified for the NCAA Tournament, which was being held at Karsten Creek. Needless to say, I was excited about returning to Stillwater for the week, little did I know that two months later my family and I would be moving back to be a part of the men's golf team at OSU," Guetz added.
A native of Littleton, Colo., Guetz competed for the Cowboys from 1993-97, earning third-team All-America status in 1996. He was an honorable mention All-America pick as well as an All-Big 12 selection the following season.
In 1994, Guetz won the Colorado Open as an amateur and took medalist honors at the Canadian Tour Qualifying School in 2000.
A three-time winner on the Gateway Tour, Guetz captured his first Canadian Tour event title in 2006 and recaptured the Colorado Open crown in 2008.
Guetz played professionally from 1997-2009, competing as a member of the Nationwide Tour, Canadian Tour, Asian Tour and Gateway Tour during that time.
Guetz received his degree in economics from OSU in 1997.
