Cowgirl Soccer Finishes Spring With Win and Tie

Stillwater, Okla. - Oklahoma State came away with a win and a tie on a windy Saturday as the Cowgirls knocked off Southern Methodist University 3-0, before tying Central Oklahoma 1-1.
Colleen Dougherty struck first for the Cowgirls against SMU when she scored off her own bending corner kick. Sarah Brown added to the score in the first five minutes of the second half finding the back of the net off a pass from Annika Niemeier. Brown finished the game with a second goal assisted by Taylor Mathews. AD Franch and Keely Kippenberger shared the shutout in goal.
In the second contest, Melinda Mercado scored the only goal for the Cowgirls in the first half off a cross from Brown. The Lady Bronchos answered with a goal in the 31st minute of the second half to tie the game 1-1. Kippenberger played full-time minutes for the Cowgirls in goal.
OSU finished the spring season 8-0-2.
