Cowboys Hold 36-hole Lead In Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a 36-hole total of 556 on Saturday during the first day of action at the Insperity Augusta State Invitational to hold a 10-shot lead at Forest Hills Golf Club.
The Cowboys opened play with an 11-under 277 during the morning round to lead by two over Clemson at the par-72, 7,029-yard layout. OSU followed with a 9-under 279 to end the day at 20-under 556 and 10 shots clear of Tennessee.
Four of the five Cowboy starters finished the day in the top 10 and were led by senior Kevin Tway, who blistered Forest Hills to the tune of an 11-under 133 total to lead by four over Tennessee's Danny Keddie. The Edmond, Okla., native opened with a career-low 64, which also matched the tournament's 18-hole scoring record.
Tway arrived at his 8-under number after logging two birdies and an eagle on his outward nine before posting four birdies on his back nine. He followed with a 3-under 69 during his second round that included two birdies and an eagle.
Sophomore Sean Einhaus continued his impressive play since rejoining the starting five, posting rounds of 69 and 70 to finish at 5-under 139 and alone in third place.
Sophomore Drew Page posted rounds of 72 and 69 to get in at 3-under 141 and tied for fifth place.
Freshman Talor Gooch also finished the day under par, carding a 143 total that featured rounds of 72 and 71. His 1-under total tied him for ninth place.
Junior Morgan Hoffmann signed for rounds of 72 and 78 to finish at 150 and tied for 54th place.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. (EST) and will be grouped with Clemson and Tennessee.
