Stillwater, Okla. -- Mariah Gearhart scored on a sacrifice fly by Ari Morrison in the bottom of the eighth and Oklahoma State's 19th-ranked softball team defeated No. 25 Texas Tech 2-1 here Saturday afternoon at the Cowgirl Softball Complex.

Gearhart led off the bottom of the eighth with a double off the wall in left centerfield and went to third on an errant throw by the Tech centerfielder. Morrison hit a high fly ball to left and Gearhart was safe at the plate with the game-winning run.

Oklahoma State took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third on a leadoff home run by Ashley Boyd, her fifth of the season.

The Red Raiders tied the game in the top of the fifth. Logan Hall doubled and scored when Tamara Brown's throw to the plate was off line on a base hit up the middle by Holley Gentsch. Raven Richardson followed with a base hit over second base, but Brown redeemed herself, throwing pinch runner Meredith Heath out at the plate.

The Cowgirls had runners on first and third with one out in the sixth, but a line drive to second and a fly ball to left ended the threat.

Sophomore Kat Espinosa threw a complete game for the Cowgirls, allowing one run while scattering five hits and improving to 17-5. Kelsey Dennis took the loss for Texas Tech, falling to 12-2.

Oklahoma State (33-10 overall, 5-6 Big 12) will host the Red Raiders (39-8, 4-7) in the series finale on Sunday at noon.
