STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State football team held its first practice of the spring Monday afternoon, as the Cowboys worked out without pads on the turf at Boone Pickens Stadium.
“Overall it was a good day,” coach Mike Gundy said. “It was good to see the new coaches out there and things seemed to be going very smooth. I look forward to a day off tomorrow and getting back out Wednesday.”
One highlight from the Cowboys' first day was the return of sophomore Daytawion Lowe, who was sidelined with an injury last season.
“I never knew how much I would miss football until I couldn't play,” Lowe said. “To actually not be able to go out and put on the football pads, it hurt. It changed my whole attitude. I'm ready. I'm so excited about it that I can't even put it in words.”
OSU resumes practice Wednesday afternoon for its second workout of the spring.
