Cowgirl Basketball Falls at Wyoming

LARAMIE, Wyo. - Oklahoma State's women's basketball team saw its season come to an end with a 75-71 loss at Wyoming in the second round of the WNIT in front of 5,372 fans inside Arena Auditorium.
Playing without their leading scorer and rebounder in sophomore Toni Young, OSU (17-15) struggled to find its way offensively early on, hitting just 27 percent of its shots in the first half to trail 35-27 at the break.
Wyoming's (24-8) first four baskets of the night were all from beyond the 3-point line as the Cowgirls raced out to a 12-5 lead before OSU cut it back to a two-point deficit at 16-14. However, Wyoming hit OSU with a 17-3 run, including seven-straight points from Hillary Carlson, to extend the margin to 33-17. During that stretch, OSU managed just one field goal over a seven-minute stretch.
Sophomore Lindsey Keller answered with eight consecutive points, including back-to-back threes to get the margin back to 35-25 before freshman Vicky McIntyre's jumper with 35 seconds remaining got the deficit back into single digits.
Wyoming's Aubrey Vandiver drilled four 3-pointers en route to 14 first-half points before finishing with a game high 27 on the night.
OSU freshman Tiffany Bias scored the first seven points of the second half to get the Cowgirls within 35-34 before senior Lakyn Garrison's reverse layup capped a 19-2 run spanning back to the 3:20 mark of the first half to put OSU in front.
Wyoming answered with a 5-0 run to jump back in front 40-36 with 14:50 remaining. OSU used a 3-point play by freshman Kendra Suttles and a 3-pointer from sophomore Heather Howard to go back on top 55-51.
With the score knotted at 60 and 3:55 remaining, Vandiver hit a layup to put Wyoming back in front and Carlson drilled a trey on the next possession to extend to a five-point cushion.
With Wyoming in front 71-65, Vandiver missed a pair of free throws and Bias drilled a long 3-pointer got get OSU within a possession with 40 seconds remaining before pulling hitting another with six seconds remaining to make it 73-71.
Carlson iced the game with a pair of free throws on Wyoming's next possession.
Bias led OSU with 17 points, while McIntyre chipped in with 16 of her own.
