Three Cowboys Named To Hogan Watch List

NORMAN, Okla. - Three members of the Oklahoma State men's golf team were among those included on the watch list for the 2011 Ben Hogan Award it was announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
The Hogan is presented annually to the top men's NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfer taking into account all collegiate and amateur competitions during a 12-month period.
Senior Kevin Tway as well as juniors Morgan Hoffmann and Peter Uihlein were among the 26 players named to this year's watch list.
Tway, a second-team All-American a year ago, was a semifinalist for the award last year. This season, the Edmond, Okla., native has finished in the top 10 in four of his five starts with his best finish being fifth-place showings at both the Ping/Golfweek Preview and the Ameri Ari Invitational.
Like Tway, Hoffmann, was named a second-team All-American in 2010. The Wyckoff, N.J., native has recorded top 10s in each of his last three starts, including a third-place outing at the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational.
As a sophomore, Uihlein was named a first-team All-American as well as a semifinalist for The Hogan. The reigning U.S. Amateur champion, has been finished first or second in all three of his starts this year, including a win at the Fighting Illini Invitational.
The Hogan Award semifinalists will be announced April 14. The three finalists will be invited to Colonial Country Club in Fourth Worth, Texas, for the Hogan Award presentation on the evening of May 16.
