Cowboys Suffer 67-61 Loss to Virginia Tech

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Keiton Page scored a game-high 21 points and Brian Williams added 14 off the bench, but Dorenzo Hudson scored 18 points, including four clinching free throws in the final minute, to lead Virginia Tech to a 67-61 win against shorthanded Oklahoma State on Saturday. The game was played in front of an estimated 12,500 fans.
Victor Davila hit two free throws with 1:30 remaining to put the Hokies (11-3) back ahead after Oklahoma State had rallied with 10 straight points to tie it. LeBryan Nash missed a potential go-ahead 3-pointer at the other end for the Cowboys, and Page missed three more 3-pointers down the stretch.
Oklahoma State starters Jean-Paul Olukemi and Markel Brown both limped off the court with injuries, leaving the Cowboys even more outnumbered.
The Cowboys beat VT in most statistical categories, but got outrebounded 47-24, leading to 24 second-chance points.
Oklahoma State (7-6) opens Big 12 Conference play on Wednesday, Jan. 4, as the Cowboys host Texas Tech (7-5). Tipoff is set for 7 pm.
